A Chorus Line

Last night I went to see A Chorus Line at the Ahmanson Theatre with Charlie. The story revolves around a dance audition for the Chorus line in a musical. It basically shows them practicing the dance number. In between the dancing, each of the people tells the story of how they got there. It was pretty good. I liked it. Some my recognize the songs like:

One
-
"One singular sensation
Every little step she takes
One thrilling combination
Every move that she makes"

or

What I Did For Love -
"Kiss today goodbye,
The sweetness and the sorrow.
Wish me luck, the same to you.
But I can't regret
What I did for love, what I did for love."

The songs were pretty good, but the dance numbers were amazing! This was my first time seeing the stage production. I had seen the movie once a long time ago, so I'll have to watch the movie again to make a comparison.

I give A Chorus Line

2.5 Stars because the songs are a little dated, but most people will recognize the most famous ones. The dancing is great, but at times the dialog is hard to follow and the stories may not be as interesting or controversial anymore. However, it is a classic... so for those that are into musicals you have to see it. For occasional viewers, I recommend seeing the movie first to see if you'll like it.
