Sunrise Or....

Sunset....

Before I get to today's Act, can I just say how much I LOVE snail mail? Today was an awesome day for snail mail. I’ve been sick the last couple of days, so I haven’t picked up my mail since Friday. I got the mail today and had the normal bills, coupons, and junk mail… BUT I also go 6 things in the mail that I was excited about.
  1. $$$ for my “Plant a Forest” campaign from my aunt. Thanks Ninang! – I’m at $1891 now… just $109 left to go.
  2. Goodies from Kat Brooks for donating $$ to Face2Face
  3. The two Face2Face shirts I ordered last week. Whoo!
  4. 2 bottles of wine from the “Wine of the Month” club
  5. My tix to see Idina Menzel at the Greek Theater
  6. My Broadway LA 2011-2012 Season tickets – I’m going to see Come Fly Away, Wicked, Billy Elliot, The Adams Family, Million Dollar Quartet, La Cage Aux Folles, and Memphis. Ok my musical buddies out there. First come, first serve... Let me know what you want to see and you’re coming w/ me!

Act 31:

“It’s never too late… To Watch A Sunset

It’s one of nature’s greatest wonders. No artist can truly capture its aura. No film can reproduce its splendor. Watch it alone or with a loved one. Drink it in. Feel humble but feel alive. Be inspired by its magnificence” – Patrick Lindsay

Quote in book: “Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it” ~ Confucius

So after listening to Kat Brooks on LA Talk Radio w/ Sheena Metal today it was 7pm. I consulted The ORACLE and found out that the sunset was scheduled for 8:06pm(PDT). Then I decided to try to go watch it. I drove out to Dockweiler Beach fully expecting to see the beautiful sunset I’m accustomed to seeing there, but alas it was overcast. =( I was so sad and disappointed. I’ll try again tomorrow.

Mr. Lindsay is right. Seeing the sunset is one of the most beautiful things out there. I also think sunrises are very beautiful, but not being a morning person… I’ve only seen a few sunrises. I only saw these cause I was up at the butt crack of dawn for some other reason or because I stayed up all night. I love sitting and watching the sunset. It’s always nice to collect my thoughts. The colors are amazing. He’s right, it’s hard to reproduce it.

All the pics I take Suck! I did go through my pics and picked out some of the pics I’ve taken of the sun setting. They aren’t that great, but that’s cause I’m not a photographer and I usually don’t take pics of the sunset. Here they are.

Thailand

The Philippines

Somewhere over the US

Hawaii

I know you've seen this one, but I LOVE it

Hawaii that same night

I feel like he’s also trying to say. Slow the F&%* down! Take the time to enjoy the beauty around you. Whether it’s the sunset or the flowers or the trees, enjoy nature. Especially those of us who live in the city, where untouched nature is farther away. I love living in the city, but the color of pavement is not a beautiful thing. All I see around are grays and beige…cement, stucco, brick (although old brick buildings can be beautiful). It’s always so nice to visit AR and see all the beautiful colors.

So, go out and watch a sunset. Take in it’s beauty. Just sit. Watch. Breathe. Enjoy!
