This blog topic could be taken a couple of different directions. Praise and in praising GOD and worshiping, praising people for their accomplishments like a job well done, or praising other people like in compliments. I’m gonna focus on the latter two, cause I don’t need to get all preachy on my blog.

Praise to me is to compliment someone. I’m very weird about compliments. It’s kinda my same feeling about surprises. I love giving them, but I hate receiving them. Not sure y’all know this, but I’m really bad at taking compliments. Like when people call me beautiful or smart. I kinda cringe. I never really noticed that I don’t take compliments well until a few years ago. I mean for the most part I try to say thank you, but the whole thing really makes me uncomfortable sometimes. Don’t know why.

However, for some reason I’m okay w/ praise at work. Maybe it’s because I’m a hard worker and I feel like the praise is due. I feel like if you work for it… then you deserve it. Maybe that’s why I feel uncomfortable when I get compliments for things that I have no control over, like my beauty.

And contrary to popular belief, even if people at work think that I'm not capable of it. I do compliment other people. In fact, someone recently told me I'm charming. I asked why they thought that and the response was.. "because you give compliments that are genuine and not glossy or fake, because you pay attention" (i may have paraphrased the last part a bit) So, since I don’t like talking about myself or praise for myself… let’s praise some really awesome people who I know read this…

• My mom is the best cook. She is beautiful and is so pretty when she gives that huge smile. It lights up a room.
• My bro is the best bro ever. He is an amazing gymnast, friend, and coach. Now that he’s finally happy (well that we both are) we have been so supportive of each other. Thanx for being there for me when I need to just chat
• Ate Trixie has a really cool laugh and is a really good baker. I’m still waiting for those red velvet cupcakes she promised me… but everything she’s ever made has been good.
• Ninang Babes is a really good cook as well. She’s the best at making restaurant quality
• My cousin Lani has the prettiest eyes.
• My cousin Ryan is one of the nicest and considerate people I know. He’s always thinking of others
• My cousin Joel has a really great smile. He’s really good at his job that I know I could never do… (I’m not gonna even put it on here… cause I can’t even think about it)
• Wanga is the best friend a girl could ever ask for. I love her laugh and her energy
• JEM is an amazing listener and always helps me remember my inner Filipina!
• Lena is really perceptive. The other day we chatted and it was so freaky how well she knows me.
• Whit is the best at playing pipe dreams. She was the best neighbor and physics partner.
• Jordo is a really big flirt and he doesn’t realize it (or maybe he does???). He’s also such a great big teddy bear.
• KBrooks has the biggest heart of anyone I know. She’s so giving and amazing.
• MStrat and the rest of the Straton family always make me feel like a part of the family. It’s always so hard to be away from my own family. Thank you for taking me in a treating me like one of your own! You know I think of you guys as my second family. =)
• Bex is the most creative person I know and is also an amazing artist, poet and writer.

I know I’m forgetting a lot of people… but my brain is really fried tonight cause I stubbed my toe so bad that I thought I broke it. It is throbbing and it’s hard to think. If I forgot you, I’m sorry. You are awesome. You are amazing. I love you and thank you for being in my life

I’m dedicating this blog to someone who has recently come into my life. You are amazing. You are so beautiful inside and out. You have made these last couple of weeks so great and I can’t wait to meet you. You know who you are…=P

Please please please… Go out and Praise someone. It makes you feel better. It makes them feel better. It’s awesome.
