Won't Somebody Please...

All the world's
a masquerade
made up of fools
and philosophers
Were it to rain
on our charade,
all washes away,
except for our true colors

If any people bothered
looking for truth, please,
STOP THE WORLD
from spinning 'round
instead we choose to follow
footsteps of fools, please
STOP THE WORLD
from spinning 'round
If nothing's new under the sun
for me and you
Won't somebody please...

STOP THE WORLD
STOP THE WORLD
I WANNA GET OFF
STOP THE WORLD
STOP THE WORLD
WHERE THERE IS LOVE

If we forget
yesterday,
We're bound to repeat it
tomorrow
It's not too late
to start today,
Better off safe,
than sorry

Do unto those as you would
do to yourselves, please,
STOP THE WORLD
from spinning 'round
We need more feet to walk
in one another's shoes, please

STOP THE WORLD
from spinning 'round
There's nothing new
under the sun
for me and you,
Won't somebody please...

Act 48:

“It’s never too late… To Stop The World

This is essential. We need time to reflect. To chill. To consider calmly. To widen our vision. To look for meaning. We can’t do it when we’re rushing headlong through life. Take time to pause. Walk. Sit. Pray. Meditate. Think deeply. With renewed direction and passion. ” – Patrick Lindsay

Quote in book: “Time is but the stream I go fishing in.” ~ Henry David Thoreau

Sometimes we want to shut the world out. Stop the world from spinning and just breathe. Take time out and think. I seem to need to do this more often these days. I’ve been needing to recharge and just re-center myself more. Right now I feel like the world stops when I’m in my little bubble at home… Here on the couch typing to all of you. These blogs have helped me reflect on my life.

I find that doing these every night help me. I never thought journaling or blogging would do that for me but it does. Writing about different topics every day. Trying new things. It’s a refreshing take on life and an interesting way to live for the 6 months during this project.

I had a really really stressful work week. I had a week chalk full of meetings w/ adversarial people. My back has been killing me because I’ve been so tense. So, this topic couldn’t have come at a better time.

Mr. Lindsay suggests Meditation. I’ve actually been hearing this in all aspects of my life lately. I think the world is telling me to stop my opposition to it and just freakin try it. So I’m gonna try it. I know it’s not really me, but you know I’m trying to expand my horizons and do these simple acts to change my life. In the past I’ve also been opposed to doing yoga, but I’ll try that too. But I need someone to go w/ me. Maybe while KC is back in the US she’ll go do a class w/ me. Haha

So what do you do to stop the world? You have any other ideas I can try?? Please let me know. Take a little time to yourself today. To reflect. To stop the world.

10 Points: Name the Artist and song

Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue,
Thought I heard you talking softly.
I turned on the lights, the TV and the radio,
Still I can't escape the ghost of you.
What has happened to it all?
"Crazy," some would say.
Where is the life that I recognize?
Gone away...

But I won't cry for yesterday, …

10 Points: Name the artist and song

Moving forwards using all my breath
Making love to you was never second best
I saw the world crashing all around your face
Never really knowing it was always mesh and lace

I'll stop the world and melt with you
You've seen the difference and it's getting better all the time
There's nothing you and I won't do
I'll stop the world and melt with you

10 Points: Name this alternative band from Mesa, AZ known for “The Middle”

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out or looked down on.
Just try your best, try everything you can.
And don't you worry what they tell themselves when you're away.

It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle of the ride.
Everything (everything) will be just fine, everything (everything) will be alright (alright).

10 Points: Name this the Artist who sings “Every Woman In The World”

Girl, you're every woman in the world to me
You're my fantasy, you're my reality
Girl, you're every woman in the world to me
You're everything I need, you're everything to me

10 Points: Name the Artist who sings “Perfect World”

I never could have seen this far
I never could have seen this coming
It seems like my world is falling apart
Yeah

Why is everything so hard
I don’t think that I can deal with the things you said
They just won’t go away

In a perfect world
This could never happen
In a perfect world
You’d still be here
And it makes no sense
I could just pick up the pieces
But to you this means nothing,
Nothing at all

10 Points: Name the Artist who sings “Around The World”

The kisses of the sun - Were sweet I didn't blink
I let it in my eyes - Like an exotic drink
The radio playing songs - That I have never heard
I don't know what to say - Oh not another word

Just - la la la la la - It goes around the world
Just - la la la la la - It's all around the world
Just - la la la la la - And everybody's singing
La la la la la - And now the bells are ringing

10 Points: Name this Fall Out Boy Song

You only hold me up like this
Cause you don't know who I really am
Sometimes I just want to know what it's like to be you
We're making out inside crashed cars
We're sleeping through all our memories
I used to waste my time dreaming of being alive
(now I only waste it dreaming of you)

Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains my pillowcase
Like I'll never be the same

You only hold me up like this
Cause you don't know who I really am
I used to waste my time on
Waste my time on
Waste my time dreaming of being alive
(now I only waste it dreaming of you)

Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains my pillowcase
Like I'll never be the same

I've got headaches and bad luck but they couldn't touch you, no
I've got headaches and bad luck but they couldn't touch you, no
I'm not trying
You only hold me up like this

Turn off the lights and turn off the shyness
Cause all of our moves make up for the silence
And oh, the way your makeup stains
Like I'll never be the same
