Let's Go Back To School

Act 119:

“It’s never too late… To Study Again

It doesn’t have to be formal study. It doesn’t need any time limit. Study life. Study life. Study the things which fascinate you. Learn new skills. Update old ones. Explore.” – Patrick Lindsay

Quote in book: “Knowledge is the most democratic source of power.” ~ Alvin Toffler

5 years ago I went back to school. I’m so glad that I finished, but it was a hard three years of my life. I was working full time and taking two classes each quarter. Luckily I didn’t have class during summer. Going back to school was great. It gave me a chance to meet some of the best people and the best friends. I’m still very close to a lot of the people in my class. Shout out to UCI FEMBA ‘09s especially Section A… Actually shout out to all of my UCI FEMBA/MBA/EMBA/HCEMBA classmates in all years. Miss you all.

Since I just went back to school, I’m not really too inclined to go back again. I know after I finished B-school I was thinking about taking the LSAT, but at that point I was too burned out to do more schooling. Now that it’s been 2 years since I finished… I’m still not gonna take the LSAT (I don’t want to go to law school, what was I thinking?)

So, no major schooling, but what about taking community college classes… like learning a new language or learning to play an instrument or even taking an art class. I’ve always wanted to be more fluent in French and learn some other languages. I have the poor man’s version of the Rosetta Stone. Haha I think I’ve mentioned before that I’ve always wanted to learn to play an instrument…specifically a guitar and the piano. As for the art thing, I’ve never considered myself to be creative, but I had to write a poem and paint something for these blogs… they didn’t turn out so bad. Maybe it won’t be horrible to do some more. Haha. Or than these things I think I wanna take some html and java classes. I wanna finish designing my musical website. I’d also want to learn ballroom dancing. I wanna be like those dancing w/ the stars celebrities and be able to dance. =)

I could be on board for learning some new skills or activities. If you had the opportunity to learn something new… what would you choose to do?

I want to learn Tagalog but don't have anyone to practice it with on a regular basis. I'd like to pass the language on to Mason. How cool would it be to see a little white boy speaking Tagalog!
