Oh, Girls Just Wanna...

Act 105:

“It’s never too late… To Have Fun

It’s often something we forget. We’re never too sophisticated, or too old, to have some good old belly laughs. Take the mickey. Challenge stuffiness. Don’t be afraid to look the goose. People love someone who can laugh at themselves. Try it. It’s contagious. And great for your health.” – Patrick Lindsay

Quote in book: “Everything is funny as long as it’s happening to someone else.” ~ Will Rogers

I do sometimes forget to relax and just have fun. I am that uptight girl who doesn’t really let loose a lot. I don’t know how I became that way. I think cause I’m so caught up in rules and regulations and what’s “right” that I forget to have fun. Or maybe it’s because I’m too focused on the task at hand or my personal goals to have time for fun… but whatever the case. Having fun doesn’t really come naturally to me in certain circumstances… like at work or school or in new situations/environments.

Generally, I have fun when I’m with my family or friends. When I’m comfortable in a situation. Not very many people think that I’m shy, but I am. I’m also really hesitant to open up to people that I don’t know or that I’m not comfortable with. So for me, being comfortable is the first step for me having fun. The second step is letting go and allowing it to happen. I find that when I relax and just let “my hair down” so to speak, I usually do have a lot of fun.

When I think about the things that are “fun”… for me it’s games or sports. As a kid, my family always played games – board games, card games, and video games. So, I LOVE games and it doesn’t hurt that I’m pretty good them hehe. As for sports, I’m fairly athletic (or at least I used to be). Maybe my idea of fun is healthy competition?

When I’m having fun, I laugh a lot. I giggle a lot…In real life and in my virtually one. Not sure if you’ve noticed but I do put “haha” or “hehe” a lot after certain comments I make. I do it on text, emails, and I even verbally do the “hehe” on the phone… hahaha =) Apparently I’ve been laughing and having fun an awful lot lately, because I’ve been complimented on the sound of my laugh by at least 6 different people in the last 4 months. Rumor has it that, my laugh is “contagious” or “infectious”. It is also distinctive. While on the cruise ship, I was laughing and one of our table mates comes around the corner and was like “I knew it was you because I recognized your laugh. You have a really nice laugh” Aww so sweet.

Anyway, try to have as much fun as you can. Laugh as much as you can. Most of the time we remember the really bad times in our lives and the good/fun times in our lives. So, try to make each moment memorable by having fun. =) If you’re like me, you need to schedule “fun” time…. So I’m gonna pencil in“fun” time into my schedule… Hopefully, you don’t need to schedule it and just will have fun.

Here are two easy trivia questions so you can stop reading this blog and go have fun! Hehe =)

10 Points: Name the Artist and the Song of the lyrics below

Well she got her daddy's car
And she cruised through the hamburger stand now
Seems she forgot all about the library
Like she told her old man now
And with the radio blasting
Goes cruising just as fast as she can now

And she'll have fun, fun, fun
'Til her daddy takes the T-Bird away
(Fun, fun, fun 'til her daddy takes the T-Bird away)
